Here we are at the beautiful Lake Chautauqua for 2010 C Scow Nationals! We could not be asking for more perfect weather!!!
We have some great coverage of this regatta. Becky Damore of Sail22 is here photographing the regatta and you can see a gallery of images by clicking here (all of the boats are tagged, so if you find your boat, click on the image and all of your images of your boat will come up).
We also have Chris Love from Sailgroove <- – click on over to see some great video coverage of each race mark roundings & finishes and some interviews with some of the top sailors. He does fabulous work!
Here are a few images I have taken over the past few days. Lake Chautauqua has this fabulous Sailing Center & this is where it all begins….
We arrived with gorgeous blue skies & big fluffy white clouds…& it’s time to put the boat together….
That’s us….T-91
Steve helping a Chautauqua boat raise their mast.
Steve & Jim Glueck raising his spar…
This John R. Turney Sailing Center on Lake Chautauqua is simply beautiful. For all of us from Lake Maxinkuckee, we are very appreciative when we see facilities like this, because we do not have this luxury on our lake.
They have quite the Sunfish fleet too!
T-91 ready to go in the water…they use a crane and hoist the boats in.
Okay, I know this is not sailing, but these purple martin houses are so cool! They are all numbered and I’ve been told they have a purple martin club and they come and lower the houses and look inside to study the birds.
Here’s one guy peeking out
& finally….time to get sailing!!!
what a gorgeous old wood Chris Craft!!! Razzle Dazzle
Here’s the majority of the fleet at the start…Ed Furry with Sail22 is crewing for Steve during nationals…I’m sitting this one out to rest my healing arm
Here’s Chris Love from Sailgroove go check out the C Scow National clips….he’s doing a great job!!!
Below is a photo of my brother-in-law Joe IV & my nephew, Joe V after the 3rd race on the 1st day. I love this moment!
